The DIN EN 4199 standard series describes bonding straps for use in on-board networks of aircraft. The new edition of Part 001 specifies general characteristics of bonding straps with flat or round braided copper conductor, and terminal lugs, crimped on both ends, for use on aircraft. The following modifications have been made with respect to the previous edition DIN EN 4199-001:2008-02: - the aluminium conductors have been deleted in the scope and thus all references to these conductors have been omitted in the document, - the normative references have been revised, - in Table 3, the test in accordance with EN 2591-403 shall no longer be applied, - Figure 1 from the previous edition has been omitted, the numbering of the following figures has changed accordingly, - 6.3 now deals with the ohmic resistance instead of voltage drop, - the headline of 6.5 has been modified. The standards of the EN 4199 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-08 AA "Installationskomponenten" ("Installation components") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
