The EN 4165 series of standards describes rectangular electrical connectors in modular design for an operating temperature of 175 °C, continuous, for aerospace applications. The new edition of Part 015 describes the round chimney for accessories (1 per module cavity) used in the family of rectangular electrical connectors, 2 and 4 modules. The connector accessory body corresponding to those round chimneys is defined in EN 4165-014. This standard differs from DIN EN 4165-015:2007-11 as follows: a) The scope of application was concretized to the family of connectors with 2 or 4 modules; b) a second figure for round chimneys with cable tie support was included in Clause 5, maximum masses were specified for both variants in the figures, a limit dimension was included for diameter A and the internal cross section was reduced in Figure 1; c) in Table 1, Class B for chimneys made of nickel-plated aluminum alloy has been included; d) in Clause 7, the identification block has been extended by a place for indicating the cable tie support option; e) in Section 8, the requirements for marking have been included, but the reference to EN 2424 has been omitted. The standards of the EN 4165 series of standards are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Aerospace Standards Committee. AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Electrical Connectors" at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
