The standards of the EN 3773 series describe requirements for single-pole, temperature-compensated circuit breakers for rated currents from 1 A to 25 A with a maximum breaking capacity of 65 In/1 000 A for use in aircraft electrical systems. The standard DIN EN 3773-006 specifies the characteristics of single-pole circuit breakers, temperature compensated with a rated current from 1 A to 25 A, used in aircraft on-board circuits at a temperature between -55 °C and 125 °C and at an altitude of 15000 m max. These circuit breakers are operated by a push-pull type single push button (actuator), with delayed action "trip-free" tripping. They will continue to function up to the short-circuit current. The standards of the EN 3773 series are prepared by the standardization organization ASD-STAN, Technical Committee Electrical, of the AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD) with the participation of German experts at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-05 AA "Schalter, Relais und Schutzgeräte" ("Switch, relays and protection devices") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
