The DIN EN 3660 series of standards describes the characteristics of cable outlet accessories for circular and rectangular electrical and optical connectors for aerospace applications. The new edition of Part 064 defines a range of cable outlets, style K, straight, shielded, sealed, self-locking (anti-rotational) for heat shrinkable boot, and or with metallic bands under the following conditions: The associated connectors are listed in EN 3660 002. Class N in EN 3660-001 corresponds to class F in EN 3660-064. Temperature ranges: Class F (N): -65 °C to 200 °C (see note above); Class K: -65 °C to 200 °C; Class KE: -65 °C to 260 °C; Class W: -65 °C to 175 °C; Class T: -65 °C to 175 °C (Nickel PTFE plating); Class Z: -65 °C to 175 °C (Zinc Nickel plating). Associated electrical accessories: EN 3660-033 Metallic band (for shield termination). These cable outlets are designed for termination of overall shielding braid and / or individual cable shields. They accommodate/permit the termination of heat shrinkable boots. This standard differs from the previous edition DIN EN 3660-064:2010-10 as follows: a) the scope has been extended to metallic bands and temperature range classes KE, T and Z; b) the normative references have been updated and extended; c) Figure 1 has been revised and the legend extended; d) Table 1 has been extended to include shell size 28, the columns for D and N have been omitted, specifications have been partially changed; e) the column for G was omitted and existing values were changed in Table 2; f) Table 3 has been expanded to include classes T and Z, and Table 4 has been expanded to include class KE, and both have been completely revised and expanded; g) limit dimensions have been included for diameter A and distance D in Table 5; h) Figure 3 and Figure 4 as well as Table 6 have been revised and partly changed, optional connection dimensions have been newly included with Figures 5 and 6 as well as Table 7 for classes K and KE; i) the new classes KE, T and Z have been included in 4.5; j) in Table 8 (formerly Table 7), classes KE, T and Z and shell size 28 have been added and assembly torques have been changed; k) for the tests in 5.1, the newly added classes KE, T and Z have been taken into account, tests according to EN 2591-214, EN 2591-313 and EN 2591-423 and for the remaining tests, additions have been partly included and/or changes have been made; l) 5.2, Special tests, has been changed; m) the identification block in Clause 6 has been extended to include information on decoupling protection. The standards of the EN 3660 series are prepared by ASD-STAN, Department of Electrical Engineering, with the collaboration of German experts from the Aerospace Standards Committee (NL) at DIN. AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the aerospace sector. By agreement of 3 October 1986, ASD became the Associated Organization (ASB) of CEN. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
