Overview

The DIN EN 3660 standard series describes the characteristics of cable outlet accessories for circular and rectangular electrical and optical connectors for aircraft use. Part 007 specifies a range of cable outlets, style C, self-locking, 90°, shielded (cone grounding), unsealed, with clamp strain relief for use under the following conditions: The cable outlet permits the termination of individual and/or overall screens for thickness from 0,8 mm to 4,8 mm. The associated electrical connector is quoted in EN 3660-002. The temperature range for Class N is between -65 °C and 200 °C, for Class W between -65 °C and 175 °C and for Class K between -65 °C to 260 °C. The EN 3660 standard series has been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrics, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 1986-10-03. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Connector") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
