DIN EN 3660-001:2016-04

The DIN EN 3660 series of standards defines cable outlet accessories for use with circular and rectangular, electrical and optical connectors on aerospace equipment. The new edition of Part 001 specifies conditions of use and storage, styles, material/surface protection classes, construction, tests, and quality and qualification requirements. These may be sealed or unsealed and include accessories suitable for the suppression of radio frequency and electromagnetic interference. Cable outlet accessories according to this standard are used on electrical and optical circular and rectangular connectors for varying temperature ranges, environmental conditions, fire resistant and non-fire resistant applications as designated in the product standards. The standard differs from the previous edition DIN EN 3660-001:2007-11 as follows: a) the normative references have been updated; b) style Z has been included in Table 1; c) the material/surface protection classes KE, T and Z have been included in Table 2; d) in Table 3 the tests EN 2591-212, EN 2591-214 and EN 2591-423 have been newly included and additional notes have been added to the tests EN 2591-402, EN 2591-403 and EN 2591-408; e) an additional test group 5 for product standards for lightning has been introduced in 9.2.2, Table 4 has been supplemented by it and a qualification test program has been included in 9.2.4 with Table 10; f) the qualification test program of Group 0 in Table 5 has been extended by the additional tests; g) the extension of the qualification described in 9.2.5 has been changed, the previous tables have been omitted. The standards of the EN 3660 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. By agreement of 3 October 1986, ASD became the Associated Organization (ASB) of CEN. The responsible German standardization body is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical Connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
