The DIN EN 3645 series of standards describes the properties of electrical circular connectors with bayonet coupling for aerospace applications at operating temperatures up to 175 °C or 200 °C continuous. Part 002 specifies the performance requirements and contact arrangements for circular connectors with threaded quick coupling, fire resistant or non-fire resistant, intended for use in a temperature range from -65 °C to 175 °C continuous or 200 °C continuous. The following changes have been made compared to DIN EN 3645-002:2008-03: a) Clause 3 "Terms" has been included; b) designs Z, for components made of zinc-nickel-coated aluminium alloy, and T, for components made of nickel-fluorocarbon-polymer-coated aluminium alloy, have been included in the standard; c) possible applications for Quadrax contacts have been added to the housing sizes and contact arrangements; d) the following contact arrangements have been supplemented or added: 11N04, 19Q31/19L31, 21L20, 21Q75/21L75, 23Q06/23L06, 25L07, 25L08/25Q08, 25L17, 25L20. The standards of the EN 3645 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 1986-10-03. The responsible German standardization body is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical Connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
