This Type C standard contains safety regulations. It contains the German version of Amendment A1:2010 to EN 12629-3:2002, which has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 151 "Construction equipment and building material machines - Safety", the secretariat of which is held by DIN (Germany) at the European Committee for Standardization (CEN). The national interests during the preparation were represented by Working Committee NA 060-13-10 "Betonsteinmaschinen" ("Concrete block machines") of Technical Section Bau- und Baustoffmaschinen (Construction equipment and building material machines) of the Mechanical Engineering Standards Committee (NAM). Representatives of manufacturers and users of concrete block machines, as well as representatives of professional and trade associations were involved in the preparation of the standard. This European Standard defines, in connection with the previously valid standard EN 12629-3:2002, relevant requirements set out in Annex I of the new EC Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, relating to machines which were placed on the market within the EEA for the first time, with the intent of simplifying the means of proving conformity with such requirements. This part of EN 12629 applies, together with EN 12629-1:2000+A1:2010, to machines for the manufacture of constructional products of calcium-silicate or concrete, where one mould or several moulds is (are) incorporated in the turntable or slide table machine. The motive power for compressing the mixture is effected either mechanically (Annexes A, B), or hydraulically (Annexes C and D). EN 12629-1:2000+A1:2010 specifies general requirements applicable to machines for the manufacture of constructional products from concrete and calcium-silicate. This document describes the additional requirements to and/or the deviations from EN 12629-1:2000+A1:2010 specific to the machines it covers. This European Standard deals with all significant hazards pertinent to these machines, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see clause 4). This European Standard specifies the appropriate technical measures to eliminate or reduce risks arising from the significant hazards. This standard establishes safety requirements and/or methods of protection which apply to these machines. Within the framework of the adaptation to the new Machinery Directive, the following changes have been made with respect to EN 12629-3:2003-06: - modification of the foreword; - modification of the introduction; - modification and update of the scope (clause 1); - update of the normative references (clause 2); - modification and update of clause 3 (Definitions); - update of the significant hazards in clause 4; - update of the safety requirements and/or protective measures in clause 5; - update of the verification of safety requirements and/or protective measures in clause 6; modification and update of the information for use in clause 7; - update of the marking in clause 8; - update of hazard zones and specific requirements for a common slide table machine in Annex E, for a common turntable machine in Annex F, for a hydraulic turntable machine manufacturing concrete products in Annex G and for a hydraulic slide table machine manufacturing concrete products in Annex H; - update of the informative Annex ZA on the relationship between this European Standard and the essential requirements of EU Directive 2006/42/EC; - update of the bibliography.
This document replaces DIN EN 12629-3:2003-06 .
