DIN 55571-1:2014-03

This document specifies the test methods which can be used to determine both the hot tack strength of a sealing seam under predetermined sealing parameters and the conditions, by varying the sealing parameters, for achieving the optimal hot tack strength of sealing seams. It can also be used to compare different hot seal media. The results of the measurements of methods A and B with regard to the absolute value cannot be compared directly, as the test setup and the sealing conditions differ considerably. Due to the process-related positioning of the deflection pulleys, both methods are primarily suitable for flexible packaging materials. The document has been prepared by Working Committee NA 115-02-01 AA "Flexible Packmittel - Laminate, Folien, Säcke, Beutel, Tragetaschen" ("Flexible packaging - Plastic and laminated films, bags, pouches, carrier bags") at the Packaging Standards Committee (NAVp) at DIN.
