Short description
This standard specifies the state of the art of vapour recovery systems and connected entities within the meaning of the 20th Federal Immission Control Ordinance (20. BImSchV). The standard sets mandatory criteria and conditions for monitoring the functioning of whole vapour recovery systems. These include the gas pipes, the movable containers and locking devices with their respective components. The standard applies to testing of vapour recovery systems subject to approval and non-subject to approval installations such as storage tanks in fuel depots, filling stations, tank farms or mobile containers at depots. These facilities are utilised for storing and decanting gasoline fuels, fuel mixtures and naphtha, in which vapours are captured and supplied to a vapour recovery system to reduce the emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC) into the environment.
