DIN EN ISO 14916:2017-08

This document specifies the procedure to determine the tensile adhesive strength of thermally sprayed coatings under tension in the direction normal to the surface of the coating by applying a tensile test. By using this procedure, comparability of the test results is ensured. This standard differs from DIN EN 582:1994-01 as follows: a) Clause 2 "Normative references" has been updated; b) terms concerning the different types of failure have been updated; c) figures on the types of specimens have been revised; d) a clause on the test report and on the documentation has been included; e) Annex A (work instructions for specimen preparation), Annex B (recommendations for further additional equipment for specimen preparation), Annex C (comparison with ASTM C 633-01) and Annex D (example of a test report); f) a Bibliography has been added. The European/International Standard has been prepared by CEN/TC 240 "Thermal spraying and thermal sprayed coatings". The responsible German standardization committee is DIN/DVS Joint Committee NA 092-00-14 AA "Thermisches Spritzen und thermisch gespritzte Schichten (DVS AG V 7)" ("Thermal spraying and thermal sprayed coatings (DVS AG V 7)") at DIN Standards Committee Welding and allied processes (NAS).
