This part of DIN EN 60401 represents a uniform procedure for specifying the properties of magnetically soft ferrites and contains recommendations and requirements for the measurement conditions under which these are to be determined. This International Standard is thus a guideline intended to support manufacturers of transformer and inductor cores in the preparation of catalogs and also to ensure that the comparability of data from different manufacturers is ensured. Users and manufacturers are also provided with guidance on testing and specifying the reliability of ferrite cores and for components with ferrite cores. The responsible committee is DKE/K 625 "Magnetische Bauelemente und deren Komponenten" ("Magnetic components and their parts") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
This document replaces DIN EN 60401-3:2004-05 .
