The EN 4165 series of standards describes rectangular electrical connectors of modular design for an operating temperature of 175 °C, constant, for aerospace applications. The new edition of Part 003 specifies the characteristics of Series 2 and 3 modules coupled by central threaded coupling, or rack and panel or push-pull latching mechanism. For contacts and fillers plug associated see EN 4165-002. This standard differs from DIN EN 4165-003:2008-10 as follows: a) the scope has been extended to modules with push-pull latching mechanism; b) tables and figures have been given respective headings and captions; c) the values for B have been changed in Table 2; d) an additional item number has been added to the legend in Figure 3; e) weight information has been added for the blank modules in 4.4; f) Figure 6 with codes E and F has been included in Clause 5; g) the selection of usable identification letters and codes in the identification block has been extended; h) Table 3 for contact types and delivery modules has been revised and extended; i) the identification block in 7.2 has been extended by a letter for the design; j) the marking of the modules has been specified in Clause 8, the reference to EN 2424 has been omitted. The standards of the EN 4165 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. The responsible German standardization body is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical Connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
