The DIN EN 3646 series of standards the properties of electrical circular connectors with bayonet coupling for aerospace applications at operating temperatures of up to 175 °C or 200 °C continuous. The standard DIN EN 3646-005 defines the characteristics of hermetic square flange receptacles in the family of bayonet coupling circular connectors, intended for use in an operating temperature range of - 65 °C to 175 °C or 200 °C continuous. The standard DIN EN 3646-005 specifies the properties of hermetic fixed connectors with square mounting flange from the family of circular connectors with bayonet coupling, which are intended for use in the operating temperature range from -65 °C to 175 °C or 200 °C constant. It applies to the Y design. See EN 3646-008 and EN 3646-009 for associated free connectors and protective caps. This standard differs from the previous edition DIN EN 3646-005:2007-05 as follows: a) inclusion of diameter z in Figure 1; b) change of z for housing size 14 in Table 1. The standards of the EN 3646 series are prepared by the ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrotechnology, with the participation of German experts from DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL). AeroSpace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN) has been declared responsible by the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) for preparing European Standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the Associated Organization (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 3 October 1986. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-03 AA "Elektrische Verbindungselemente" ("Electrical Connectors") at DIN Standards Committee Aerospace (NL).
