This document specifies procedures for measuring the impact sound level difference and the impact sound level reduction of decoupling elements of solid stair landings and stair flights in the test rig. Determination of the impact sound level difference is mandatory. Determination of the impact sound level reduction is optional and can be performed in addition to determination of the impact sound level difference if required. If impact sound level reduction is determined, then it shall be done according to the procedure specified in Annex A. The test results obtained can be used for comparison of the impact sound insulation properties of decoupled solid stairs, for acoustic labelling and classification of decoupling elements according to their sound insulation and as input data for a calculated prediction of the standard impact sound level of elastically decoupled stair landings and flights in buildings. This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 062-02-31 AA "Schalldämmung und Schallabsorption, Messung und Bewertung" ("Sound reduction and sound absorption; measurement and evaluation") at DIN.
This document has been replaced by: DIN EN 17823:2024-07 .
