Short description
Central Europeans stay most of their time indoors. Therefor, the indooor air quality is important for health and wellbeing. Technical facilitis, structural damage, animals and users themselves may be sources for odours beside emissions from materials and furnishing. Unpleasant odour up to odour pollution accompanied by health related complaints can appear depending on the situation. Sources of odour emissions often can not be determined by chemical/physical measurements solely, due to their complexity. A systematical inquiry of the users prove successful to plan further steps of investigation based on structured information. Users are able to describe problems regarding the indoor air quality, environmental disturbing factors and ventilation conditions. With the help of the standard, comparing the results of the inquiry to results of rooms without known problems regarding the indoor air quality and using the pattern of complaints an assignment to possible causes and targeted measurements can be done. The standard is aimed at experts, authorities and real estate agents.
