Short description
This standard specifies the requirements for the planning, validation and application of self-developed or modified measurement methods to ensure the validity of the measurement results. It covers the analysis of the measurement task; division of the measurement procedure into modules; checking the applicability of individual modules of standardized measurement procedures; examination of the applicability of measurement procedures from other areas of application (e. g. from occupational health and safety); description of the self-developed or modified measurement procedure; determination of the required parameters; investigation of matrix influences; determination of the specified parameters; determination of the field of application of the measuring method; documentation of all work steps. This standard supplements and supports the general requirements of DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 with regard to: the planning and selection as well as the validation of a measurement procedure (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, Section 7.2.1 and Section 7.2.2) and the application of the measurement procedure from sampling to the validity of the measurement results to the reporting with the evaluation of the measurement results (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025, Section 7.3 to Section 7.8). The procedure described in this standard can also be applied to the planning, validation and application of self-developed or modified measurement procedures in other media areas. This standard is intended for bodies carrying out determinations of air pollutants at stationary sources, for accreditation bodies and for competent authorities in the field of air pollution control.
